February 11, 2026 Open Day for secondary schools.

The “She-nziate” Open Day will be held on Feb. 11, 2026 at the CNR Regional Research Campus of Rome 1 (ARRM1) in Montelibretti (Rome). The initiative is aimed at female and male secondary school students and is held on the occasion of both the third National Week of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) disciplines and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
Involving nearly 100 female and male students, the event offers a hands-on experiential immersion in the world of STEM disciplines, combining science, technology, engineering and mathematics with 14 laboratories and interactive experiences including hands-on experiments, demonstrations and multidisciplinary activities carried out by researchers from 10 institutes belonging to ARRM1 and the Monterotondo Research Campus.
The goal is to stimulate curiosity, encourage informed choice of science pathways and promote STEM learning, while reflecting on the value of scientific culture and the importance of gender equality in science.
This is a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the opportunities offered by STEM disciplines, learn by doing, and discover how science can be exciting, creative, and accessible to all.
The scientific and organizational activities of the event are carried out by the ARRM1 Disclosure Group in collaboration with the following CNR Institutes: CNR IBBA – Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology, CNR IBBC – Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, CNR IC – Institute of Crystallography, CNR IIA – Institute on Atmospheric Pollution, CNR IRSA – Institute of Water Research, CNR ISB – Institute for Biological Systems, CNR ISM – Institute of Structure of Matter, CNR ISP – Institute of Polar Sciences, CNR ISMN – Institute for the Study of Nanostructured Materials, CNR ISPC – Institute for Cultural Heritage Sciences.
