How to get to the Area

plane

The nearest airports are:

Rome Fiumicino, directly connected to the Montelibretti research area via the regional Roma Fiumicino – Orte railway line.

Rome Ciampino, connected by car via A90 and A1dir/E35 or by various public transportation (buses and train lines).

train

The Piana Bella FS train station in Montelibretti, about a 3-minute walk away, and connects the Montelibretti research area to the Roma Tiburtina Station in about 30 minutes.

auto

The Montelibretti research area can be reached via the Via Salaria, which in turn is connected to the A1 Milan-Naples motorway via the Castelnuovo di Porto and Fiano Romano exits.

Information for visitors

The Area is located 30 km north of Rome, near Monterotondo Scalo, close to a major motorway junction (A1 Rome-Florence) and a rail link to Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport. The nearest train stop is Pianabella-Montelibretti, a short walk from the main entrance and security checkpoint.

Entry Rules
:
Visitors must report and leave their ID at the front desk, receive a special badge and form to be filled out by the local CNR host, which must be returned countersigned at the end of the visit to take back the ID.
The Area is a secure facility, operating under CNR rules for restricted access.

Staff members who host visitors are responsible for ensuring that all security requirements are met.

Parking
Visitors can park in the designated parking lot closest to the building where the visit/meeting is being held.

WIFI
The Area has a wireless guest network, which is available for general use by visitors. For more information, please ask the staff you will be visiting.
