INFORMATION ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

This information is provided in compliance with Article 13 of the GDPR 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, European Data Protection Regulation), Recommendation no. 2/2001 of the Article 29 Working Group and the June 10, 2021 Data Protection Authority’s Provision on Cookies No. 231.

This notice provides information about the processing of personal data related to the management methods of the CNR – Research Area Rome 1 of Montelibretti, with reference to the processing of data of users of www.mlib.cnr.it.

LEGAL BASIS AND PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING

This information is provided only for the portal of the CNR – Research Area Rome 1(www.mlib.cnr.it) and not also for other websites that may be reached by the user through links.

Some pages may require personal data: please note that failure to provide them may make it impossible to achieve the purposes to which the processing is related.

Pursuant to Art. 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679, it is hereby informed that the processing of personal data carried out through www.mlib.cnr.it pertains exclusively to personal data acquired in connection with the achievement of the institutional purposes of the Institution, or otherwise related to the exercise of public interest tasks and the exercise of public powers to which it is called, including the purposes of scientific research and analysis for statistical, educational and administrative purposes, pursuant to Art. 6(1)(e) and, in particular, in order to provide and improve the web services offered.

Such personal data are processed lawfully, correctly, relevantly, limited to what is necessary to achieve the purposes of processing, for only as long as necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected, and in any case in accordance with the principles set forth in Art. 5 of EU Regulation 2016/679.

Specific security measures are observed to prevent data loss, illegal or incorrect use, and unauthorized access.

RIGHTS OF INTERESTED PARTIES

Data subjects have the right to request from the data controller access to and rectification or erasure of their personal data or restriction of the processing concerning them or to object to the processing in accordance with Art. 15 et seq. of EU Regulation 2016/679.

Those concerned, if the conditions are met, also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.

INFORMATION INHERENT IN ACCESSING THE WEBSITE

The computer systems and software procedures used to operate the Site automatically acquire, in the normal course of operation, certain information inherent in web browsing, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This is information that is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects but which by its nature could, through association and processing with data held by third parties, allow users or navigators to be identified. This category includes information related to:

  • IP addresses
  • Domain names of computers used by users connecting to the site
  • request time
  • The method used in submitting the request to the web server
  • the size of the file obtained in response
  • numeric code indicating the status of the response given by the web server (successful, error, etc.).
  • other parameters related to the user’s operating system and computing environment.

This data is used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information about the use of the site and to monitor its proper functioning, and is deleted within seven days by an automatic log rotation mechanism. The data could be used to ascertain liability in case of computer crimes against the site.

DATA VOLUNTARILY PROVIDED BY THE USER

The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of electronic mail to the addresses indicated on this site entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, necessary to respond to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message.

Personal data will be processed to carry out its institutional activities, within the limits established by law and regulations, in accordance with the general principles of transparency, fairness and confidentiality.

Specific summary disclosures will eventually be reported or displayed on pages of the site set up for particular on-demand services.

Cookies consist of portions of code installed within the browser that assist the Owner in providing the service according to the purposes described. Some of the purposes of installing Cookies may, in addition, require the User’s consent.

Should services operated by third parties be among the tools mentioned below, they may – in addition to what is specified and also without the knowledge of the Owner – perform tracking activities on the User. Co-ownership of statistical data processing with Facebook

Regarding Facebook (www.facebook.com/CNR.MLIB/), the Page administrator is co-owner of the statistical data processing jointly with Facebook Ireland Limited (“Facebook Ireland”).
